Don't Go Too Far
Clack-clack-clack-clack go the caster wheels on the tile. A businessman walks by with a suit, a mission, and a cup of coffee. The teeming masses huddle in the security line waiting for their picture to be taken by newfangled TSA technology.
If sleep deprivation were a commodity, airport authorities would be a major source of income for local governments. Sadly, though, one cannot buy or sell sleep deprivation, although a redeye flight in economy class gets pretty close.
The stars aligned, as they say, for me to fly to Brazil for a few weeks to help in flood cleanup. It’s not a trip for “fun” per se, but it is a trip, and I do enjoy writing.
Like the subtitle says, I’m not committing to writing a regular schedule, but if I get inspired, which I think I will, I’ll be writing reports here for the people back home on the wrong side of the equator.
The trip starts here in Sacramento. My flight starts boarding in one minute (as I write this). Total travel time is about 33 hours. The final destination is Florianópolis, landing tomorrow at 6:15PM local time, which is three hours later than my hometown time in California.
Looking forward to writing more when the inspiration hits.
